Boot record signature not found!

OK, this is my first shot at NT. I am tryin to install NT server and I thought I had it beat. I installed everything, removed the floppy and CD disks and booted up from the hard drive. For some reason, LILO was still in use (I thought that windows over wrote LILO?) anyways, I booted into dos and did a fdisk /mbr (format /mbr gave an invalid switch error) and when I restarted, it gave me the NT options. I picked one and it gives me this error:

OS Loader V4.00
Boot Record SIgnature AA55 not found (0000 found)

I guess I messed up the mbr??? I really don't want to have to try to install again only to find out that the problem was not fixed.

Any help at all would be appreciated.

You could try booting up on the NT CD-ROM and running a boot repair...

It actually is "FDISK /MBR". Also, do as Roger suggests and boot the CD to do a repair of the bootsector.
