I got this server without any hard drive. So I added an IDE hard drive, setting it as master drive. I then install Ubuntu 10.10 on it from USB key. The Ubuntu runs from off the USB. However, after the installation, the server couldn't find the boot up drive, and keep trying NIC boot up instead. I looked in the ROM/BIOS settings, it only allow PCI IDE boot controller order to be 2nd place. This is not boot order. The boot order is USB, CD Drive, PCI Hard drive, etc ... NIC

I wonder if HP just don't allow this somehow, and force an SCSI drive to be used for boot up instead? That's rather restricting. If not, is there a motherboard jumper or ROM/BIOS settings for this?
