Boot Problems

Whenever I power on my 2500 series router, it boots all the way to the prompt "Would you like to enter the initial configuration dialog? [yes]:" and then stops. I cannot enter any commands whatsoever, the router acts as if my keyboard is not plugged in. I am very familiar with the Router Simulator but this is my first try at the real thing. I am running Windows 2000 and am using the HyperTerminal tool tht comes with it. I have it set using Com 1 at 9600 baud rate, No parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit and no flow control. The terminal emulation is set on auto. Can anyone here help me out? Thx in advance.

Router(config)#config-register 0x2102
Router#copy startup-config running-config

That is exactly the problem, I cannot type anything at all.
