I can't get into my Vista partition on my laptop. I installed Vista RC1 from scratch on the first partition and 2 days ago I installed Win Server 2003 Ent. Ed. to the second partition. I just restarted today and found I didn't have an option to boot into Vista. After a bunch of reading I did find that Vista doesn't use the boot.ini.

Anyways, I've played with the boot.ini and bcdedit, but haven't had success. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get back into Vista. It's a major thing, but I don't have my Vista disc with me to reinstall.

Edit:

...It's a NOT major thing, but I don't have my Vista disc with me to reinstall.

Can you get your hands on a Vista DVD (even an old one) and use the Startup Recovery Options to fix your problem?

If not try downloading VistaBootPRO_3.1.0.exe from
See if that has options to fix your problem?

I'll take a look at the VistaBootPRO. It might work. I can get the DVD, I just didn't have it with me today at work where I was working on the laptop.

You probably should have installed Win2K3 Server first, then Vista.

I have a dual boot XP Pro/Vista desktop. No problems booting either OS.
