I had a user that interrupted the consistency check on
Windows 2000 by turning it off durning the check several
times before I was notified.

Now the system comes up with a (No Operating System Found)
message.

Just a note too, this HD was very close to being full. It
had 490mb of free space on it.

When I tried several solutions like for example,

Booting from Windows 2000 CD to attempt a repair, it says
the following. (Couldn't open the boot partition to check
for a signature).

Also a error message I get is a (Disk I/O error
status=00008000).

I'm trying to just gather some data from the My Documents
folder and be done with this mess.

If any solutions or idea's please send me your input.

I thank you vey much for your support..

David

It sound like the drive has become corrupted.

The easiest thing to do is put the drive into another machine and run some data recovery software on it, then you can try repairing it and if that fails then re-format and re-install.

Recover data before trying to fix it so that no more corruption occurs.
