Boot loop

I have a compaq/hp d530 running windows xp sp2 that worked yesterday and today is in a nonstop boot loop. It says that windows did not start properly and gives me the safe modes options as well as last known good configurations and boot to windows.

I have tried everyone and nothing changes.

I have tried using the xp disk. It won't run the recovery because it says it is missing a dhcp file, but I can't get to a dos prompt to create it.

It suggested using the Windows Automated System Recover Disk but I don't have that.

I downloaded the Diagnostic for Windows but can't make the disk so I can't run it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You will have to use the Setup floppy diskketes to access Recovery Console.

Once in Recovery Console do:

chkdsk /r

exit
