Greetings.

Please excuse the low level of my posting skill having never done this before.

I have just started a new job and have been given a task to automate dissemination of the preparing os function.

I have been asked to come up with a solution involving a bootable usb drive using Ghost to load image which contains WinXP and the drivers for the Radiant terminal type p1220-1054-ba.

Evidently, this is to streamline the installation of POS software without having to install XP from disk each time.

We were using Win7, but have encountered a problem with Ctlsvr service stopping once the Aloha software is installed.

Since then, we are using XP and having no problem, but would like to have an unattended method to prepare the terminals to accept the POS software.

Thanks in advance from an obvious newber,

Uncle Haemich

I have a File server with images to my Registers. They are P1220's and can be loaded from PXE boot. Instructions are shown or you can just grab the .gho image and load it from Norton Ghost. It is However Windows XPE.

thanks for the help, chuckymafia.

i tried two of your ghost images. they seemed to load ok, but after that, i would only get a black screen and no further activity.

any suggestions?

thanks,

peter

I used them on a P1220-0153 and it loaded the P1220-0827CAP.gho Image fine. I did not realize they had Windows Embedded Standard on Them. Did you try that one or another Image as I have 4 Images for the P1220 on that link. Secondly I used an Image disk I had used back in the day for Converting some Burger Kings. So another suggestion maybe to check the Ghost program you are using as the one I posted on that link has not been tested.

Here is also a Direct Copy from that P1220-0153 with XPe. This one has the IP set to static and Station 12 PC Name. Change that accordingly and the path to your Aloha BOH in the Ibercfg.bat File under c:/Aloha/. OR If you wish. Stop Aloha Services. Delete C:/Aloha and proceed to change the Terminal ID and Domain. Then run the c:/staging/Terminst/setuptrm.exe program. This maybe handy as it will gather the Right Information to YOUR System and configure everything accordingly.

Note that I am getting(well Got) myself Wordpress and Premalinks will remove these files soon. I dislike ?page_id= and prefer links to state my posts name. So These files will be up and then gone after I Moved to a Permanent location. Unless I keep the same permalinks. Yet I am picky as to my Websites. So get them now before they are gone. lol Sorry Mates
