boot from cdrom aix 5.2

he
i have a rs6000 f40 with aix 5.1
i try to install aix 5.2 but i dont can boot form the cdrom
what is the problem

You have to change the boot sequence before you can boot from cdrom
when you're logged in type the following command :

bootlist -m normal cd0

next time you reboot it will take your cdrom as primary bootdevice

Wrong.
The F40 does not support AIX 5.2
MCA and RSPC support ended with AIX 5.1.
You will need a CHRP machine (F50 or later) to run 5.2.
