I have just installed a new mobo (PC133 M758), celron 1GHz processor and a additional 20GB HDD. The olny problem I’m having is that when I try and boot up. I get a message ‘boot failure insert reboot disc.’
The only reboot disc I have is from my old system running a celron 466Hz, old mobo with a master HDD and no slave, will this reboot disc do until I get the system up and running please help any information would be very helpful as this is my first time upgrading.

Is old drive master or slave? If new is master, then you need to use the boot disk that came with your OS cd. It has the install files that will load the hard drive. Ed Fair

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply.

Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

Check the jumper settings on your HD's. I assume you have installed your new disk as a slave. Disks come jumpered as masters by default. I never saw a message like that but it appears that your computer can't decide where to look for the boot record. FYI most hd's come with four jumper settings. Looking at the disk from the pin area the left most pair of jumpers is for master, the second for slave, the third for cable select and the fourth (if present) for manufacturer diagnosis. On the underside of the disk you will probably see, right below each set of pins, MA, SL and CS. This is general information about modern disks. Your older disk may not be configured like this but you may be able to find the information on the manufacturers web site. Don Swayser
