In Win2k you can create a boot disks by typing winnt32.exe /ox does it still work for XP??

If i'm understanding you correctly, you want a bootable floppy? If so then you don't need to because XP is a bootable compact disk and will give you options to repair if needed and also to reinstall.

capricornholio is correct. Windows 2000 and XP have the ability to boot from the CD. But if you really need to create a boot floppy set then the ability to do so should be on the CD under the MAKEBOOT (Or something similar) folder on the CD. Its right off the root of the CD.

Do you have a pc with XP preinstalled? I bought several HP's with it preinstalled, there are no boot disks nor CD's. If that's the case, we may have to look to Microsoft for a solution. A note in the package said there is a copy of XP stored on the disk if the original becomes corrupted. If the disk crashes - call Microsoft!

Open Explorer, put in a floppy, right click the A: drive, select Format, put a tick in the "Create MS-DOS startup disk", click OK... Cheers,
Jim

As far as i know, it is not possible to make boot floppies with XP.
When does i need them ?
At home I have only my SCSI cdwriter and seemingly a Bios that doesn't support booting from a SCSI Cdrom, so the only way to install XP is to first install another win system and start the XP-setup from within the other OS, telling it to copy all the source files.
I can boot from a DOS-disk with SCSI-cdrom support, but in DOS i cannot run setup.exe. I also tried with nt4 boot disks, but that didn't work neither.

MS has put a download on their site to create boot disks for XP. Here is the link. Hope this helps.
