I am having a nightmare of a problem and I am HOPING that someone here can help.

I have a laptop that was having weird issues with Windows Millenium....it would not shut down, could not view control panel, etc.. So I figured I would upgrade the system to Windows 2000. I tried to boot the PC from the CD rom but for some reason I could not get it to boot. After Windows came back up I put the CD in and it starts to copy the files over (after I selected to do a clean install) and starts to reboot. After it reboots I get the dreaded....NTLDR is missing....press any key to restart and the message just repeats.

I have changed everything in the BIOS to have it boot from the CD yet it will not. I have tried different boot CD's to no avail. I have no floppy drive so I am screwing the pooch there. Any ideas on how in the world I can get Win2K loaded on this laptop without a floppy drive and without it booting from the CD? I even tried hooking up a USB external CD and that won't work either.

Thanks In Advance!!!!!!

Just found out myself that newer BIOSs will let you boot from USB devices. Try buying a usb floppy or usb cd-rom to boot from, if you bios will support this.
