I do the following action on solaris 7 :

1) I put a boot partition for my workstation on another network workstation.
2) I suppress my local boot partition.
3) I boot my workstation by network. It's OK.

4) Now, I destroy my disk and I put a virgin new one. If I try to boot, will
it work ? Will my hard drive be rebuilt ?

Thanks for your help.

Philippe

If your workstation is set to boot from the network, it will boot up but it will not rebuild
your boot disk. You will have to restore from a backup or reinstall the OS on your boot disk to be able to boot from local disk.
