Boosting Sendmail Performance

Hey guys,
We've been bulk mailing (no SPAM, just newsletters) with our sendmail server. I have to optimize sendmail to send million messages a day. We can currently do that for 500.000 message.
Any suggestions?, where should I tweak to get the max. performance, besides hardware upgrade.
Using multiple queues? Increasing child process count?
