Check the manufacturer's website, they may have accessory antennas for the router. If the antenna is not removable, then you need to get a different wireless router or WAP, or elevate or relocate the unit for better coverage.
You may have to do some trial and error to get better coverage.
Don't forget that wireless communication is a two-way street. Just because you have a strong radio and antenna in your router does not mean that you're wireless communication card in your PC or wireless feature in your laptop has a strong enough radio to transmit back to the wireless router/access point.
If you're feeling really brave, and you have a Linksys WAP54G or pretty much any Linksys router, you can install DD-WRT on the Linksys, which allows you to boost its signal.
