Books, Websites, and tutorial links

Does anybody have information on books, websites, manuals, or other pertinent learning materials applicable to the “Crystal Reports XI”?

Amazon has this book,” Crystal Reports XI: The Complete Reference (Complete Reference Series) (Paperback)
by George Peck “

Has anybody used or would they recommend it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The first recommendation I would make is invest $2500 in yourself and send yourself to live training with a reputable education partner for Crystal Reports. Their material is the best on the market and the Education Partner's Instructor usually brings life experiences to the classroom. You learn, experiment and cement how Crystal works. I would recommend taking the first 2 classes (4 days) one month, wait two months and then take the third class.

Second there is a book, not an XI book but a good book by Annette Harper - "All In One CRCP" that should be in everyone's library.

Third the book you mention is a good tool, but I would suggest Annette's first, then that one.

I have read or reviewed almost every CR book out there and both of these books are good, but Annette's is best. And that is my humble opionion.

I learned using a self-teaching course that ran on a PC. You can also learn a lot by trial-and-error, writing test reports just to see what is possible.

Interesting to note that no one recommended the user's guides. In my experience, most classes tend to be just rehashes of what the guides contain.

Are you all simply not comfortable with recommending the guides to learn from or are these classes/books/instructors really of such a high caliber as to add much more value?

I've been looking myself and find myself coming to the forums because the classes don't really address much more than the basics which are covered in the guides.
