Hi,

i have a task at work to develop a database in access. I think that before doing that i need to read some theory on proper database development, i'm complete newbie in this field. Could you suggest a good book for my purposes?

Also could you suggest some good books on access, i already know something in it so it needn't be a complete newbie book.

Hi

In my view Access Developers Handbook, is a good buy.

For general information on Normalisation and table design, I belive one of the contributors here (JeremyNYC) has a good article on his website

I have to agree with Ken. The Access Developers' Handbook is by far the best I have come accross. Volume 1 is probably the one you want.

The books are published by Sybex, if I remember correctly.

For general system-design tips the Financial Times publish a book called System Design & Implementation which is well worth a look.

Ed Metcalfe.
