Bookmark files

For backing up my IE Browser bookmarks where do I get the files from? I see favorites and the bookmark files all show shortcut which I assume is not the correct files for backing up.

Please advise the directory in Windows XP where I can copy my Favorite Bookmarks?

It is the favorites folder that you want to back up. The shortcuts contain the URL for the web pages.

c:\documents and setting\[user login name]\Favorites
