I successfully created a 60 page custom size booklet last year that was sent to the printer in PDF format, printed, no problem. This year I used the same template but when I went to convert it to PDF format, the final document displays in portrait orientation instead of landscape. I have gone through all the settings in the document, printer and Adobe, set and reset so it is correct and I cannot see any difference but no matter what I do it still comes out the same: cut off, in portrait instead of land scape. I've had a few other people look at it and no one can figure out what is wrong. I am totally stumped and would really appreciate any insight or suggestions. Thank you in advance for your help.

Are you using the same version of Publisher now that you used last year ? Sending it to the same PDF generator ? Sending it to the same physical local printer for proofing?
It sounds like you're using the option where you print a booklet with four pages on a letter size sheet, in landscape, double sided. If you're sending the PDF to an outside print shop, you may be better off sending them the PUB file, and letting them take care of the detailed printer setup.

Fred, Thank you for responding. The answer to all your questions is "yes" and yes you have described the option perfectly. I am also getting lines around my pictures and images and in some cases I am getting a black background instead of a transparent one and that didn't happen with last year's publication either. I still don't understand why I can take last years file, upload it and it comes out perfectly but I guess that will be one of the unsolved mysteries of the universe. After much brain wracking, we have decided to send the PUB file to the print shop and let them figure it out.

Esther - be sure to let us know if the print shop is able to solve the problem! I've been using Publisher 2000, then 2003 at work, and 2000 then 2007 at home, and tried to hand off one of my projects to a compatriot who'd bought 2010 - and he had some interesting issues where things worked differently for him from what I'd experienced with the same PUB file.
There have probably been updates to MS Office that made minor tweaks to your publisher, and possibly to Acrobat as well. Are you using an earlier Publisher (2000, 2003) where you use an external PDF converter, or a later one (2007,2010) that allows you to publish as PDF or XML directly ?
