Booking system like Outlook

Hi All,

I am wondering if it is possible to set up a sharepoint site that includes a calendar that they can book meetings on.

I know that you can set events, but I need it to book on the calendar and stop people from double booking events, or send a notification, like an Outlook meeting requests.

Hello,

Out of the box, the Events "is" the calendar functionality in SharePoint. What you can do is to get a read copy of the Events list in your outlook client, but that does not help you much, since you are not able to actually use it from within outlook to book events.

I have not seen any 3rd party webparts regarding this, but might be something out there. If I find anything I will let you know.

Hello again,

I was just thinking that from Outlook it is possible to actually invite and use the meeting request option together with sharepoint. You can chose to create a shared meeting workspace and then you can use your outlook client to book meetings and those will be listed on the Meeting workspace that you create.

I have done some test with it here and it works pretty good. And you can have the different meetings listed on the sharepoint site.

Perhaps not what you are looking for but just thought I'd mention it.
