Hi All,

I have been using SMS for about 6 years on and off.
I now need to hone my skills for SMS2003, MOM, and the auto security update side of SMS2003. Can someone recommend some books which are the 'best' on these subjects.

Thanks People,

Von Moyla

Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003 Administrator's Companion" is the be all end all for SMS books IMHO

And as far as a book that covers the other two subjects, I suggest "Professional MOM 2005, SMS 2003, and WUS

Also, don't forget the free downloadable guides from Microsoft.

SMS 2003 - Concepts, Planning and Deployment Guide found here

SMS 2003 - Operations Guide found here

Also, if you want to practice, there are some eLabs from Microsoft tha you can download....

Also, I really do suggest you watch MS Webcasts on the topics, there are loads just on SMS, from Setting up SMS for the first time, to troubleshooting common issues, to advanced inventory customisation....Look out for Wally Meed, he's the program manager for SMS from the beginning : have a look here...

SMS Webcasts

Check out these ones to start with

Installing SMS 2003
Client Deployment
Advanced Client Problems
Troubleshooting Common Issues

That should give you a good start.
