Hi,

I am a complete novice to BEA WebLogic and was looking for a good book the bea documentation is too huge. I would be grateful if someone could let me know what would be a good book to learn. I have browsed through amazon reviews and I have two books in mind
WebLogic: The Definitive Guide
Mastering BEA WebLogic Server: Best Practices for Building and Deploying J2EE Applications.

They have bad reviews to but I guess these seemed to be the best in the worst.

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

I have three Weblogic books on my shelf and they seem to meet my needs. They range from the shallow, to the very deep. They are...

1) BEA Weblogic Server 8 for Dummies
2) Mastering BEA Weblogic Server (Wiley)
3) BEA Weblogic Server 8.1 Unleashed (SAMS)

Don't laugh at the Dummies book. Sometimes you need just a high level description of a function or facility. It's just a little embarasing to buy or have sitting on your shelf.

The other resources I use are Google and the BEA website. I would add Tek-Tips to that list, but this BEA Weblogic forum seems to be dead. Nobody ever answers questions here.

Hope this helps.
