hi people this is my first ever thread in this forum so please be nice to me,

i am about to start the sun solaris cert study parts 1+2
i have never used unix before but my company are putting me forward for a course,

i would like your advice on the top books i need and if there is any exam software that i can purchase, i have a mcse and ccna back ground, any advice would be swell,

Hi,
You can go through the Solaris manuals or documentation provided in docs.sun.com site. This is more detailed guide for you rather than the sun educational services provided during the course which points only for the examination.

Hope this will help,

Best book I can think of is "Solaris 2.6 ADMINISTRATOR CERTIFICATION TRAINING GUIDE, part 1", Author is Bill Calkins, Publisher MACMILLAN TECHNICAL PUBLISHING USA, ISBN 1-57870-085-X.

It has a CD in the back that creates sample tests and marks them by subject area so that you can work out where you need to revise the most. [sig]
Ged Jones

Top man[/sig]
