Bonding Question Linux on Power with Virtual Ethernet

Hi

I've got Problem to bring up the Linux Bonding Device on RHAS4 on Power. I see the ibmveth Devices eth0,eth1. The Devices will working proper if i use them as they are. If i configure the Adapter as Bonding Devices the bonding Monitor in /proc/net/bonding/bond0 will indicate the Interfaces as down, but the Interfaces are up in ifconfig....
I configure them as slaves ( ifenslave bond0 eth0 and eth1 )

The Module is loaded and in use ( lsmod | grep bond )

Does anybody know if bonding will work on virtual interfaces ?
