Hey,

We just heard that the BOM (Backup Operator Manager) was now owned by Legato, and renamed to Legato NetWorker Operations.. Hmm. Maybe Legato is actually listening to everyone who's complained about the lack of a robust reporting tool for NetWorker.

Hello,

it is as ag100 says. I've just talked to a techie from Integrity Sys and they told me that BOM is now owned by Legato. In my opinion it is a tool that is far more useful than the GEMS Console.
Mainly because of the ability to pass through a firewall using only ONE port and not using the RPC portmapper with thousands of ports.
The reporting tool in BOM is a dream - one klick and you find out which backups failed and for what reasons.
But it still has it's drawbacks - missing cluster support, minor SmartMedia support. Maybe Legato and Integrity Sys will fix it soon.

Yep!

Went to Legatos "Customer Briefing Day", and they explained all the plans they had for Networker 7.

Oh the happy days ahead :)

are you a little sarcastic? The plans are fine and hopefully they will be reality until legato 8.0 :)

btw. I heard that BOM is not owned by Legato but licensed as OEM as of now.
