I've read "somewhere" that certain precautions have to be taken before installing 2000 on same PC with Access97. Could someone please go through them for me here....I'd like to print the instructions and go through them....step by step.

Thank you.

Hi Darryl

Yes, there are some basic precautions to be taken. These are:

Install Access 97 first
If you already have Access 97 installed, then
Install Access 2000
Install Access 2000 to a completely different folder. In most circumstances,
Access 97 is installed into the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office
folder. Check the path to ensure you know where your copy is.
Install the new version to (for example) C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office 2000\Office
folder.

That's about it. I currently have three version running on my home PC (97, 2000 and 2002/XP) with no problems.

There are a number of other threads in this forum that have dealt with this issue. You could try a search on "Multiple versions" , Installing 2 versions", etc for more comments/opinions.
