Has anybody setup a Bogen system to an IP Office using the Zone Paging Module -3 (ZPM-3) to a line port?

I hook it up and it does not do anything. A TAM-B works fine, but I cannot get it to work with the ZPM-3 by itself off of an analog TRUNK port.

Does the ZPM-3 provide talk battery necessary for a trunk position? Other than that, there's not a lot to it...

I can if I use the 48v power supply. Does it need talk battery?

When using a trunk position for paging applications, there needs to be talk battery on the circuit to "carry" the voice. Most paging adapters designed for trunk access (Like TAM-B) supply talk battery. Put a multimeter across tip and ring toward the zone adapter and see if you have DC voltage (generally 6VDC +/- although quite a wide range will work). You should also be able to put your butt set across tip and ring and make pages by going off hook and dialing whatever zone digits are required.
Good luck

If all else fails

Page to a digital handset with its handpiece (earphone) connected to a LIU connected to a line input on the paging amp. Second hand phones laying around helps

I used a regular analog station port to connect to my customers Bogen system and everything worked fine. There wasnt any need for a UPAM. Trunk ports are very tricky and they do need the voltage as stated. Using a butt set is a good test. You should hear beeps as soon as you go off hook. dial 01 and you should be able to talk across the speakers.
