Hi,

As part of our DR strategy, we used a free server and set up a BOExi_r2 system, the same as our live system on another server). I then used (rather than migration wizard as we have had too many problems using that) a 10 step process to migrate all contents to the test/ DR system, and then plan is to do this once a week, or after an important event such as a financial month end.
In short the process is to stop all services on both systems, Migrate the live database to test using ODBC, Copy the while FileStore to the same location on Test/ DR, make sure the input and ouput servers points at this file store, create all servers on test/ DR, switch it all back on. But leave the report job server stopped so that it does not run scheduled reports.

All seems fine, except that I cannot view any reports? I get one of the following errors:

Unable to retrieve Object.
Error on Processing Extension: Fail to initialize: %1.

OR

Unable to retrieve Object.
File ~cebf04c3049da9710e8.rpt not found on File Repository Server.

Does anybody have any ideas. I did go through the Update Objects process on CCM, but it said nothing to be updated.

Thanks,

Are the two-servers named exactly the same thing - ie. SERVER1..? If not, then this manual migration method will probably not work because the SERVER name is written/rewritten everywhere in the CMS database.

Please detail your problems with the IMPORT WIZARD.

I have done this same migration task a number of times on our DEV, TEST and PROD environments of BOE-XI (R2) without issue using the IMPORT WIZARD.

I think you need to run the Update Objects button in the CCM (Central Configuration Manager)

I have recently performed a DR whereby the System database and Filestore was restored from backup and following the restore, until I performed the "Update Objects", the system did not work.

So restore both the System DB and the filestore and then go to the CCM (Central Configuration Manager) and perform the Update Objects function.
