I just did a standard install of BOExi r2 to a new server, using a BOE11 created SQL database. I selected both .net and java installations, which we have done many times before. We currently simply use .net.
But when I now navigate to the Launchpad, the .net version says that the page cannot be found, but the Java version works fine. Any ideas?

Is IIS on the server up and running OK...?

Did the contents for the .Net CMC and InfoView deploy to the same folder path in IIS as they have on your working servers...?

Is the .NET framework installed? Have the .NET server extensions been installed in IIS? When you go to the properties of the BusinessObjects folder on your website in IIS, if there is no "ASP.NET" tab, then IIS isn't configured to run .NET apps.

The problem turned out to be that ver 2. ... of .net was installed, as opposed to 1. ...

Good to know - we are starting to talk about the .Net 2.0 framework around here.

Are you patching it to BOE-XI (R2) Service Pack 2...?

Hi,
We run BOEXI R2 under .NET 2.0 Framework with no issues...

We also run under .NET 2.0 with no issues. My dev and QA servers have both 1.0 and 2.0 installed because more than just BO XI runs on them, but my production server has just 2.0 installed.

Hi,
That applies to R1 ONLY ..R2 runs under NET 2.0
We've been running it since R2 was released with the CMC, InfoView and lots of custom aspx/vb pages and no problems running under 2.0 - See the folowing:
Code:
KBase Article ID:3422076

Article refers to: BusinessObjects Enterprise XI

Symptom ASP .NET 1.1 and 2.0 are installed on a computer. BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2 is then installed, followed by BusinessObjects XI Release 2 Service Pack 1 and BusinessObjects XI Release 2 MHF.

As a result, when viewing reports in the DHTML viewer using the .NET InfoView or .NET Central Management Console (CMC), a red 'X' appears in place of an image or chart. If the ActiveX or Applet viewer is used, the viewer fails to download. Cause
This behavior is caused by mismatched .NET versions.

Resolution
Complete these steps:

1. Right-click My Computer and click Manage.

2. Navigate to Services and Applications > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager > Web Sites > Default Web Site.

3. Right-click crystalreportviewers115 and then click Properties.

4. [b][i]On the ASP.NET tab, choose a 2.0.x version from the ASP.NET Version list.[/i][/b]

5. Click the Apply button and then click OK.

6. Stop and restart the Default Web Site.
