I am in the CMC and trying to change the paths for the FRS Servers (input and output) to an alternate drive.

When I click UPDATE it throws an error that says "...Access denied when trying to connect to the operating system service manager for managing output.crserver.fileserver."

Anyone know what this may be?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I did actually try that but came up with the same results. Reinstalled, reboot, still the same results.

Thanks

Hi,
Are you running the servers under an account tha has full rights ( administrator level ) to the OS?

Can you stop them from the Windows services manager, instead of either the CMC or the CCM?

I have enabled Windows AD and added the domain administrator account. I then restarted the services and attempted to make the change again. Same results.

I do not see options to change the directory settings anywhere other than the CMS. The CMC only gives me the services options. Of course, I'm still new to this all.

Thanks!

Hi,
I was not clear, I think..
TRy this method:
Stop the 2 servers from the windows control panel..services applet.( They are clearly named)..

Then, in the CMC, change the location paths..But do not start them, instead click the 'Apply' button and see if it accepts the new locations..If so, exit the CMC and restart the services from the Windows Services or CCM location,if not, try the 'Update' button instead and continue as above..
If BOTH ways fail, delete both servers and recreate them, setting the path as desired.
