BOE-XI (R2)

I have a FileEvent that Monitors a UNC-Path

\\<servername>\CrystalTrigger\

for file "daily.txt"

The path I have entered in the CMC is -

\\<servername>\CrystalTrigger\daily.txt

It works with a LOCAL file on the C-drive, but not with this UNC-path.

I have confirmed that the EVENT SERVER is running with a network account that has Read/Write access to the UNC Path.

I have Deleted / Recreated the file "daily.txt" in that path using that account.

The Event is NOT being triggered.

Anyone been successful in setting up a FileEvent on a UNC network location...?

Any suggestions as to what I check next..?

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Not totally sure as it was a long time ago.

But I had a similar problem and think I got around problem by using an IP address instead of server name.

Alternatively, it may have been that the servername was not in a hostname file.

Sorry to sound a bit vague, must be getting old;-)

I changed the set-up to IP and that seemed to work OK.

I also found a trailing "space" in the location-string, so that might have been part of the issue too.

Thanks!

Hi,
Most likely the server name was not in a DNS accessible to the BOE server..
