I know this in a integration question, but sis for Enterprise, not CR.
Anyway, for those of you familiar with the Java SDK, I was hoping you might be able to answer this question.
Through the SDK can apply a filter to a report instance?
We need row level security on instances, and on demand reports for the few people who have the rights, based upon a security table. A users rights can change daily.
If we use Business Views, we can tie into the table, but a user will only be able see data in the reprt based upon the rights that they had at the time the report was generated.
We also have way to many users and roles that would make administering Business Views a nightmare.
Anyway, my thought was that if we could schedule the report, and then whenever it is viewed, we could read the scurity table, determine what data they should see, and then filter the SAVED DATA accordingly. I know we can get this functionality with on demand reports, but the requirement is for instances.
So, any information that you can provide would be very helpful.
