BOE XI 3.1 monitoring strategy

I would like monitoring options to check the availability of BOE, mainly to be alerted when it's down. We are going to be upgrading to BI 4.0 next year as a note. Any ideas?

There is extensive monitoring available in 4.0. We have not fully utilized it capabilities yet. I am not sure if it can notify you if it is down. It would seem that a third-party monitoring software would be better suited for that task.

You can set the monitoring in 4.0 to email you if certain parts of the system are having problems, but it won't be able to do anything if the whole system goes down.
