Hi

I am "NEW" to the BOBJ Enterprise XI and Crystal Reports, and I am evaluating the solution. Basically I want to be able to connect to a ODBC data source. (For now, any ODBC data source is fine)

Here is what I have done:

1) Installed BOE on Red Hat 4.0
(This is where all my servers are)
The CMS is on this machine as well.
The application server (Tomcat) deploys admin.war, adhoc.war, desktop.war, etc.

2) I can access to Central Management Console from IE in Windows. Also, I can access to InfoView and Crystal Reports Exploerer.

3) HERE are THE PROBLEMS!!!
When I launch Crystal Reports Exploer through IE, and tried to create a report, I cannot see any Data Sources. So I go to Define Report Data Source, and after I click select DB data sources, the list is empty. I thought that at least I should see the DSN in odbc.ini.

If anyone can help me or point me to the right direction, I greatly appreciate it!!!

PS. I think that I have a fundamental wrong idea about the whole procedure, and how it should be constructed.

We don't use it, but I think that the web-based CRYSTAL REPORTS EXPLORER only allows reports to be created against BUSINESS VIEWS, not directly against ODBC connections.

You would need to confirm that with BOBJ Support.
