CR XI and BOXI

From BO CMC, the reports runs fine from the History Tab as long as the fomat is Crystal.

I go to the Schedule Tab and change the Format from Crystal Report to Acrobat. Go back to History tab and run the recurring report again, I get the Print error message.

Am I missing a fix or service pack? I couldn't find anything in the knowledge base for BO XI

Hi,
What is the exact error message?
Is it being Emailed or are you having it saved to a directory that the job server has rights to?

Here's what I am getting. For now I just want to create an instance of it.

Server Used: carmine.reportjobserver

Error Message: Crystal Reports: Print Engine Error

Hi,
Just checking: Is the Adobe Reader software installed on the CE server?

The history tabe doesn't run reports, does it? I thought that it merely shows existing reports.

Print engine error is very generic. There's a Run or preview tab in BO XI though, does that work?

I generallhy put CR XI on the server as well to help with diagnosing errors as it gives better error messages.

Yes I can run from the history tab, providing that you have it scheduled, which is what I have. From there, you check the box next to the report that has the recurring status and click run now.

And Yes, I can previewing the report from the Properties tab works fine

I'll see what happens by running the report on the BO server with Crystal XI.

OK. When I tried to export in PDF format on the BO Server, I received two messages. The first said fail to export and the 2nd said not supported.

Does that mean

- Do I have to reinstall Crystal XI or
- Is there an option to add adobe acrobat from the CD or
- is there a patch from BO

Does this mean that you tried exporting from CR, or CE?

Hmmm, the failed to export sounds odd.

Can you post the exact messages?

Perhaps the dlls aren't installing for some reason.

That's the entire message "Failed to export" as soon as I hit OK on ehere I wanted to report to reside.

I don't think I need the Acrobat Reader unless the Reader is also used to create a PDF document.

We were having the same problem with a specific report... there is a subreport on this report and whenever it is empty that page will not export. May need to re-write this report - the problem exists in Crystal XI. Your issue may be the same. We have not had any other issues with exporting to PDF. This issue has been reported to Business Objects - not expecting a response anytime soon.

Cheers!!
