I have a CR8.5 Report on BOXI InfoView which I am unsuccessfully trying to export to a network drive.

The Report runs successfully when I export it to a local drive but fails when I point it at the network drive and I'm struggling to understand why. I have previously set the same report up on CE8.5 and that does export to the network drive.

From the server I have mapped the network drive to W:/ (using different logon details) and can access and update the network drive.

On BOXI I have the Unmanaged Disk setting enabled on the reportjobserver. I have set the Destination Directory to W:/ and have entered relevant logon details in the same screen. In the Report/Schedule/Destination tab I am specifying W:/pathname/ with no logon entered. On CE8.5 this was sufficient to get it working but on BOXI I get the following error:

Error Message: destination file error. CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged: Access Refused.

If I add logon details for the drive in the Report/Schedule/Destination tab I get the following error message:

Error Message: login error.CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged: Failure of opening of session: unknown user name or incorrect password.

It may be relevant that the BOXI server is not in the same Domain as the network drive.

If anyone could offer any assistance that would be great, or offer any guidance into how to do this without mapping the drive on the server? I've tried the UNC path and get the same messages as above!

Many Thanks, Matt

You cannot used mapped-network drives on BOE-XI, as the mapping only take place during the user login - not at the service level.

The account that the BOE-XI "Crystal Reports Job Servers" run under has to be a DOMAIN account (not LOCAL) that has access to the network location you are trying to connect to for the Unmanaged Disk.

You also need to use a Universal/Uniform Naming Convention (UNC) path (eg. \\server\volume\directory) for the directory when you set it up in the Destination settings instead of the network path W:/pathname/.
