BM12 Firmware 1

Has anyone tried to use the Avaya Universal Service Download Adapter to upgrade the firmware on the BM12s?
I have a document that tells me how to install a driver to make the adapter appear as a com port and my USB connects but it doesn't see the BM12 when I plug it in.
I think I am good after it connects and registers ... but I am stuck right now.

I have a XPS13 with windows 10 Pro, if that helps.

Found my own issue.

Evidently windows 10 is the issue. Works like a charm on windows 7. Just in case anyone else runs into this.
