Blurry/Jerky Transitions

When I export a timeline, the transitions become blurry and sometimes even jerky. This is especially noticeable in a 3D Cube transition. Everything looks fine in the preview, but it screws up somewhere during export. Should I be using a different codec, or are my settings just not correct? Please help.

My system:

Celeron 566MHz
384 MB Ram
60 GB Hardrive (set as UDMA100)
ATI DV Wonder Capture Card
Sony TRV510 Digital Camera
