Blur edges in premiere pro 1

I have made a picture in picture-effect, with one 100% picture and one 40% picture. And I want to blur the little picture’s edges, and only the edges, not the whole picture. Is that possible in Premiere pro 1.5??

Have you tried the Bevel Edges and Edge Feather video effects?
