I have bluetooth problems. My Pc can use the new usb adaptor I bought to connect to my Windows 2002 PDA fine, and I can transfer files using an ftp client/windows explorer extension that came with the adaptor, but I can't use active sync and I can't access the internet or messenger service via my PC from the PDA. Active sync says that "Microsoft active sync does not recognise the device that is trying to connect." It goes on to say that it may be a printer, if so it should not work. I have connected the serial port using a tool that came with the adaptor, and set active sync to that port (com 4) but it still fails to work. Also when I use the 'get connected' tool this simply says the device was not recognised.
Then there is the internet issue. There seems to be no real internet options available to fiddle with on my PDA, which is abviously the problem, as whatever the settings, it fails to connect instantly, and the only four modem options are bluetooth dial up modem, bluetooth fax modem, generic IrDA modem, and Hayes compatible on COM1. What I want it to do is connect through an existing connection on my PC, and I don't want it to dial anything, which you can't have the option to do - you have to enter a number to dial.
Another point: the network icon in the taskbar says that a network cable is unplugged, I don't know why this is.
Any help appreciated.
