I have a laptop with a Sitecom USB Bluetooth Adapter. This one connects to a Windows XP Desktop PC with a BT adapter as well (KT4 motherboard). This PC on its turn is networked to a router which is connected through a cablemodem to Internet. I cannot succesfully connect to Internet via BT on the laptop. File Transfer works well between the laptop and WinXP PC. How should I setup Internet Access on the laptop through BT?

Thanks Erik

I would set up internet connection sharing (ICS) on your XP machine. It is a very simple setup and as long as you can connect wirelessly to your XP box, you should have no problem getting it routed to the internet with ICS.

Hi thanks for your reply. I just also received an email from Sitecom support. They claim that I cannot use this scheme if I have access through a router. He suggested to use WiFi. I think in the past I also tried using ICS on my XP-box. This didn't work. Can you confirm this. WiFi is nice but this makes my BT adapter pretty useless.

as long as you have a internet connection on the "host " machine and good connectivity on the other (file transfers ect.) there should be no problem with useing ICS. the type of connectivity from computer to computer (directly) should not prohibit sharing. if you haven't configured ICS for both computers try the following link for info. let us know if you need more help. good luck.
