I have a Nokia 6310i & have just got a TDK PCMCIA Bluetooth card so I can use the bluetooth connection between phone/PC for GPRS internet connection. I can pair the devices but the connection keeps dropping. I suspect it is the phone because I also have a Plantronics M1000 Bluetooth headset which has the same problem when paired to the phone. Plantronics told me it is the Nokia firmware (currently 5.22) which is the problem. I am wondering if anyone else has had problems with a 6310i? I am being sent a new phone with 5.5 firmware so hope this will fix the problem. I also read that the Nokia smartsuite needs 5.5 to work with Bluetooth so suspect a bug in the Nokia that they haven't come clean on.

I know this was posted a while ago, but I to have a Nokia 6310i which I am trying to link to my laptop. I have installed Nokia PC Suite v4.88 and whilst my laptop can see the phone and says it's paired,(and send a business card to it) the phone can't see the laptop and won't connect.

How can I tell which firmware version I have on the phone? If you have any other tips I'd appreciate them!

To view the firmware version type *#0000# on the phone. Since I wrote this post I managed to get the bluetooth & GPRS working fine. What sort of PCMCIA Bluetooth card do you have? In the TDK software the default setting is to allow other devices to discover your laptop. I wonder if your one is discoverable?
The smartsuite won't allow you to pair the devices, you would have to do that in your bluetooth software. My smartsuite is set up as a serial port link. It appears in "my bluetooth places" as a link then I can connect OK but also have to use the Nokia connection mgr to finalise the connection. This pops up automatically then I have to select the com port that the PC suite was set up on (com 4 on my PC).
Are you trying to use the smartsuite to manage your phone, synch calendar etc?
