Ok, my computer runs fine but every now and again about once every 2-3 months i begin to get blue screens all the time as the computer is saying "preparing to start windows" of "loading your personal settings". I get an error with ntoskrnl.exe, win32k.sys, and kmixer.sys(exe) not sure. But i get one of these thrre errors on boot everytime, if i take my computer apart like inhook everytning ide cables, power ect. and rehook it all it usually fixes it, and many power on and offs and then it runs fine again for a few months and does it again, I took a stcik of ram and it fixed it for a long time, could this be due to a bad connection somwhere? Maybe a faulty IDE cable or something like that? any suggestions? thx

kmixer is your sound, you might have a cmedia sound card or something, try upgrading the sound card drivers, might fix the problem. the other files seem to be windows system files, try and install a service pack update, use the latest service pack, or re-install windows.

Yeah i do have Cmedia sound card, do u know where i can get the newest drivers for it?? and the windows files errors only happen like every few months and it fixes when i reconnect everyting... do u think it could be a bad cable or ram? something like that???

have you given complete details? 'once every 2-3 months i begin to get blue screens ' sounds unlikely to me. Please let us know exactly what has happened.

thanks

That is the details lol, and when i disconnect all of my cables and reconenct it, then it works fine. Then it will do it again in a few months so i do the same thing and it seems to fix it.....
