Hello,

I have a client that is using 10 XP Pro SP3 computers.

They are using a medical application. This a Powerbuilder application.

Lately, they are getting blue screens, when they open this Medical application. It happens on/off, on all of the computers. It is random. They might go a week without seeing the error. Event Viewer isn't showing much. This is one event I found, from a few months back. See below. They are using AntiVirus. It is a well maintained network with AntiVirus and Mic. Critical Updates.

When you get a chance, can I get your advice? What could be creating the Blue Screens? How can I resolve this? (Do you think it is the Medical App or Windows?).

Thanks for your help.

The error you are posting seems to be unrelated to whatever the medical application you mentioned, unless it uses Internet Explorer for something.

As the error states: the faulting application is iexplore.exe which is Internet Explorer's executable. And as the error also states, the cause is a Yahoo Toolbar's DLL: YTNavAssist.dll. Simply uninstalling Yahoo's Toolbar should get rid of that problem.

With that said, posting the actual error from the Blue Screen would be more helpful than a seemingly random Event from the Event Viewer.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

As well as the BSOD details, knowing if these computers that the application runs on are the same brand, model, etc., or are they all different, with different configurations?

Are there any machines that have never blue screened?

Because of the randomness of this fault you might have to go down this track.

Providing nothing changed in the medical app, I would see what updates came through from the antivirus or Microsoft. It might help if you can pinpoint when the trouble started and see if that coincides with an update or something else going on.
