When I download a bltd (oss657a.bltd.Z) it downloads it whti out the .Z extention on the end. Then when I try to zcat it, it say that it is not in compresse format. How can I install this file or download it correctly with Netscape on my sco box.

Try to rename it with the .Z extension, like this:
Code:
mv oss657a.bltd oss657a.bltd.Z

I tried but that did not work. I also tried typing the .Z at the end befor I downloaded but that did not work either.

If you download with ftp, take care of binary mode

Do a "file" at it to see what the format is.
Some programs will uncompress the file during the download, but keep the extension, and this messes things up.

the file command will tell you what format the file is on, assuming it is not corrupted.

If the file is bigger than 681 bytes then it is uncompressed.

Either download it again manually using ftp (not netscape) from ftp://ftp.sco.com/pub/openserver5/oss657a.btld.Z

or try and create the floppy with the following command.
dd if=yourfilename of=/dev/fd0

How would you ftp the file without using netscape. If I use the command line ftp it wants a user name and password.
