Blocking Telnet to Port 25

Hi,

I have configured Sendmail version 8.11 on RH 7.3.
Everything is working fine. Only thing is i want to block telnet to port 25 but i want telnet to be enabled to port 21. Access to port 21 is controlled via hosts.allow file.

We have another such server in which the above configurationis done but that was configured by earlier systems admin and he has not documented it.

Please help.

Are you saying you want to receive mail on the FTP port instead of the SMTP port?

Hi,

I am very sorry that i mentioned 21, Actually i mean 23. sorry for that.

Basically FTP is off and is not allowed. But telnet is allowed to it only from 3 workstations which i control via hosts.allow file.

Only thing is i dont want to anyone to be able to telnet at port 25

How will i achieve that. this config as i mentioned earlier is in place for another mail server, But i am unaware of the config.
