I have a customer whose management wants all their associates create and maintain a Personal Greeting for their Type 0 mailboxes rather than the Standard Greeting (Octel 250 w Aria 1.2).

Is there a way to block the use of Standard Greeting?

Also is there a way to monitor that all mailboxes are in compliance with management's directive? (Oh I wish I had a copy of DecisionPro).

You have to be at 3.xx to have that feature. On the good side you can still upgrade it if you would like.

You may not know this but 1.2 is not supported by avaya any longer but we still do.

Ken, Thanks.

Too bad Force Personal Greeting isn't found at s/w level 1.2.

I think this site will be going Modular Messaging within a year, so it's doubtful an upgrade will happen.
Do you know if MM has this same option to force the personal greeting?

Re: My other question about monitoring w DecisionPro -
Is DP still available? I recall some of those subscriber settings and profiles can be reported with DP, it might be useful to help inforce the 'policy' for the interim before they go MM. Wasn't there a few Octel server options which need to be set to Y before DP can read the data?

it is not sold any longer and yes you need bit 16 i think for database access. In MM you can kind of force them to setup a greeting as it tells them they must and does not tell them that if they hit star it will skip it.
