We have a huge Lotus Notes database that we have to cleanup every 90 days to keep it running efficiently. We copy the old documents to a backup database and then remove these obsolete documents entirely from the database.
Recently however, a user came back after 6 months from paternity leave. Since her laptop contained an out of date copy of the database; the moment she connected to Lotus Notes it started to replicate the obsolete documents back into our database on the server. Lotus Notes couldn't handle that amount of data in one go thus causing the database to become corrupted.
What would be the best way to prevent such a situation in the future?
Thanks in advance for your advise,
Tom
