Hi, we currently are using the MD110 BC12SP7.
Our jail has a few cellpod areas with phones installed for inmates to use for court calls. I need to block these phones so that they can only dial specific numbers internally, blocking access to external lines is not a problem that is done. But some inmates have figured out how to dial certain internal extensions and then dial from there when it hits voicemail, they still don't get external but they dial other extensions who don't want calls from inmates. So I want to put tighter rescritions on these phones so that they can only dial only specific extensions.

Any information would be helpful Thanks

You should be able do this in the traffic matrix.....if the inmate extensions have their own category, you can change the last two digits of the traff parameter to a matrix value "A" for which the "B" value of the last 2 digits in the traf for the admin phones is 0.

Print out the traffic matrix -- TCMAP:CON=T;

The "A" column goes down the left side and B goes across......for any particular "A" value (the A party), if you go across, the extension with that "A" value can only initiate a call towards another device for which there is a 1 under the "B" value of the called device (the B-party).

It's really more complicated to explain than it is to do.

For ex:
Assign all the inmates to a category with the last 2 digits of traf set to 01.

Then sssign all the internal numbers that you don't want inmates to dial to a cat that has the last 2 digits of traf set to any value other than 1 or 15.

Unless you already do alot with your traffic matrix, chances are that for your system when the matrix is printed out, for A=1 there will be zero's all the way across except for B=15. (Matrix value 15 is wide open by default.)

Good luck,

Hi,

I had absoultely similar situation few years back... As dave advised initiate cat X with all matrix blocked...

In my situation i had them calling to a designated operator, with no access to any internal extn , also they can't speak with each other as they had different customer groups.. there extn series was choosed with no relation to DID series... etc etc.. tried all sort of methods...

Thanks, I am working it through the Matrix and just have a few things to tweak. Plus this is helping to solve some extension payphones we are using too.
