Blocking file types

Is there a way to stop certain file types like .vbs or .exe from being mailed or received in Exchange 5.5. If not is there any known products that will. Any help would be great.

I would also be interested in knowing how to stop this at Exchange. I just finished writing an application that forces script files (.vbs, .vbe, .jse, .js, .wsf, .wsh) to be opened in notepad, rather than being executed. I have not found a need to have .vbs files enabled at our organization. Unfortunately, this would not work for .exe files.

Third party software is the best solution. Alot of products out there, I use Antigen from Sybari (

here, and it is great. Very easy to install.
