We have a small group of help desk agents that we have attached to a Nortel ACD. They have personal extensions but they are not published as they are intended for use within their small business unit. We have blocked their caller ID from being displayed when they call users outside their group, however we are noticing that when they leave voicemails Call Pilot is telling the receiving party "message from extension xxxxxx". Is there a way we can have callpilot not say the extension of these select phones?

Have they recorded their Personal Verification within the Greetings Options menu? This is usually the person's name, but you could record "Help Desk" or whatever. I think CallPilot will insert the extension if this is left blank.

They cant record personal verifications because they do not have a voicemail box.

There is one of two ways, One you can go into every mailbox you do not want the people to hear the extension and CHECK the "SHORT PROMPT" box, this will get rid of who actually left the message, But it also gets rid of external callers info which is handy. Or you can give the help desk a mailbox that does not accept messges record a blank greeting and a blank personal verification, the better solution. Thats the only way i know of.

To build on Pir8Radio advice....

In CallPilot build a local directory entry for each help desk DN. Record the same personal verification of "Help Desk" (or any other statement). Thereafter, on messages left from the help desk will announce as "messge xx - from Help Desk". The receiver of the message may still be able to learn the extension by playing the message envelope (press 72) but at least the extension will not be freely announced.

Have you tried building an entry in the CLID table with the generic Help Desk number, and assigning that entry to the buttons on the help desk user's telephone?
